How does a session work?
We start with a yoga massage. This massage is given on a mat on the floor and you wear flexible clothing, such as leggings and a long-sleeved shirt. The treatment consists of pressure point massage and yoga stretches.
This dynamic form of massage originally comes from Thailand and is officially called Thai Yoga Massage. This form consists of a balanced combination of yoga, massage, meditation and acupressure.
Where meditation calms down, yoga, acupressure and massage get things moving. After half an hour, your body and mind will be relaxed enough to optimally enjoy the sound healing.
What is sound healing?
Sound healing is a way to promote both physical and mental well-being through sound. By making sounds with specific instruments or playing certain music, sound waves are created that vibrate at a specific frequency. These vibrations influence both body and mind and can provide a deep state of relaxation, more focus and even contribute to the reduction of physical complaints.
How does sound healing work?
Although we all know that happy music quickly improves your mood, sound healing works a little differently. This is more than just playing music to influence emotions. It really involves specific sounds that vibrate at a certain frequency. Because our body consists of about 70% water, these vibrations are then conducted throughout the body and penetrate deep into the brain, cells and tissues. This ensures that blockages are removed and the body comes back into balance.
For centuries, sound has been used in various cultures for its healing effect and to support ceremonies, rituals, meditations and healings. The sounds that are made can be produced with the voice as well as with certain tools and sound healing instruments. I use Tibetan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, wind chimes, rain sticks and a tuning fork.
What is sound healing good for?
A sound healing session has various benefits and is good for both body and mind. For example, research has shown that listening to music or sounds with a certain frequency has a positive effect on the quality of sleep. In addition, the vibrations bring you into a deep state of relaxation, which reduces stress complaints. Furthermore, the vibrations are said to remove energetic blockages, remove waste products more quickly and stimulate the body’s self-healing capacity. But the ability to concentrate can also improve after a sound healing session.
